How to make the right choice of "exit direction" for machine applied adhesive labels ? 

What is " exit direction " ?

The exit direction is something frequently used in the labelling industry : it describes the orientation towards which your label will appear on the roll when you unroll it. There are 4 types of directions: :

• 0° = Front right

• 90° = Front head

• 180° = Left front

• 270° = Front foot

Which "exit direction" to choose ? 

The exit direction depends on how you apply your labels, in other words the settings of your automatic application machine you use. The exit direction is determined according to the reading direction of your label. To do this, you need to hold the spool on a flat surface in your left hand and unwind the roll using your right hand, then just look at the orientation of the text on your label.
You can also decide the direction of winding of your labels, so the labels can be inside the reel (in this case we will speak of internal winding) or then outside (we will then speak of external winding ). If you order your labels online, the winding direction will automatically be outward. If you want an interior winding, you must go through the tailor-made quote.. 

Pay attention to the dimensions provided when placing the order: :

Dimensions of your label may vary depending on the direction chosen. If we take the example below, if the label is rectangular in shape and we choose the 0 ° direction, the width (height) will be greater than the feed (width). Conversely, if we choose a 90 ° direction, the feed (width) will be greater than the width (height). We therefore advise you to be vigilant when entering information related to your need for self-adhesive labels.
